DESCRIPTION:The Scout Leadership Course is run at a local District level\, designed for Scouts who have achieved their Level 1 Milestone. It has content suitable for 12 and 13 year old Scouts who are keen to develop their skills to become leaders in their Scout Unit. The course has a practical hands-on approach and is organised around the Patrol System.\n\nPlease ensure you advise your Scout Unit leader you are attending.\n\nSessions covered on the Course include:\n\nLeadership\n\nProblem Solving and Task Management\n\nPlanning\n\nWhile at the course you may be required to assist by running an indoor or outdoor game or activity – please be prepared for either.\n\n\n\nOn Sunday we will be having an SYC – Scout Youth Council meeting\,.\n\nThis is an opportunity for scouts to bring their ideas or issues on Scouting to a higher level than their normal troops.\n\nPlease have a think about\, or talk with your Scout Unit about\, any ideas or issues you have with Scouting in general and bring them on Sunday. Please think about past events at District\, Region or State level and give feedback.\n\n\n\nPlease note that full attendance is compulsory. As topics are covered only once in the weekend\, you MUST be there for the whole course: NO SPORT LEAVE.\n\nFood will NOT be provided\, please bring all your own requirements - morning tea\, lunch and afternoon tea on Saturday\, and morning tea on Sunday. Please bring any utensils required\, and a water bottle. Cordial will be provided on Saturday so please bring a mug.\n\nWe will try to run as many activities outside as possible\, but weather and other considerations may require indoor activities.\n\nYou should wear full scout uniform - including a hat - both days. Remember to apply sunscreen.\n\nOn the Sunday you will be asked to meet your patrol at a railway station near Hornsby and follow an adventure trail back to the hall.
