Bearskin is a lightweight self-catered competition camp. Bases are being run by Scouts for patrols of Venturers and Rovers. Patrols are to be between 4-6 people. Patrols must be either all under 18, or all 18 and over. No mixed patrols of adults and youth members. The Venturers / Rovers need to carry all their needs for the weekend in their packs to their camp-site (via a weigh-in station) on arrival. They should be aiming for no more than 20% of their body weight in their packs.(averaged over the patrol) They will be packing up each day, and carrying gear all weekend to all bases and camp. Please bring your water for the weekend. There will be some water for cooking and refills in need. Scouts need to utilise the Patrol System to the best of their ability and remember their Scout Law at all times. Sun Safe is a must - this means collared shirts and broad brim hats (not caps), no exceptions. If Scouts do not have collared shirts and hats they will miss out on activities which will disrupt the smooth running of their Patrols.
