Welcome to the Kiama Coast Walk – a stunning 22km pathway accompanying our sparkling coastline! With its spectacular ocean views, inviting detours and proximity to amenities and public transport, the Kiama Coast Walk is the perfect way to explore and enjoy our region.
Birdlife, basalt, beaches, bays and blowholes are just the beginning. With so much to discover, this guide divides the Walk into three natural sections (each taking between 1.5 – 3 hours to complete). Take your time or take your marks – choose your own pace and plan your trip to make the most of quality accommodation, eateries and attractions along the way. The local train line stops at Minnamurra, Bombo, Kiama and Gerringong which means you won’t have to loop back.
The Kiama Coast Walk is a mix of sealed pathways, beaches and grassed tracks – suitable for most levels of fitness. So step right up and explore Kiama on foot today.
Pay for your camping fees on the day. We are camping at Kendalls on the Beach located in Bonaira Street, Kiama $20 per youth and $40 per adult for two nights. Please bring correct money in a sealed envelope with your full name, membership number and scout group. Please bring your opal card and spending money for two meals in town. Self catering hike style meals other days.
Sun protection and hydration will be a focus over the 3 days. There is road access and drinking water at regular intervals. If the Scouts would like to swim there should be time over the weekend. This would be under direct adult supervision in addition to the buddy system. If you would like to swim please bring swimmers, boardshorts and towel.
This 3 day bushwalking workshop is aimed at Scouts and Venturers who are interested to extend or develop their confidence and capability in relation to bushwalking. It involves some theory and practical aspects. Please note There are limited spaces for Leaders, Rovers and Parents Helpers. Please contact Tristan directly. All adults must be prepared to assist with the activities. Youth members can participate without their section leaders as activity leaders provide direct and or remote supervision for the duration.
