Brief Summary:
Kayak Weekend on the Lower Snowy River Two day trips. Saturday easy paddling, some flat water. Sunday, a little bit harder.
Additional Information

Lower Snowy River
The Lower Snowy is about 300m above sea level, which means it is a warmer climate than the rest of Kosciuszko National Park, this enables different vegetation to grow things like Cypress pines that be seen along the valley. The water is also warmer having travelled many kilometres from Jindabyne over shallow riverbeds warning in the sun.

There will be a compulsory pre-activity Teams meeting on  Monday 30th September 2023 at 7:00 pm meeting for gear appraisal, questions and transport.

The weekend is comprised of,

Saturday; Put-in, Running Waters Campground and pull-out at Willis Loop Campground. Easy paddling with some long flat paddles.

Sunday; Put-in at Halfway Picnic ground and pull-out Pinch River. A little bit hard paddle than day one.

  1. Catering will not be supplied. It will be self-catering (no fast food or shops nearby)
  2. It is important that all participances have adequate fitness and skill level for the trip.
  3. The correct gear is important for an enjoyable trip. Participants will be responsible for their own kayak gear. Let me know if you require any assistance with gear. Gear requirements will need to be check and confirmed well prior to the trip.
  4. We will meet at the Alpine Centre Saturday morning at 8:00am, then drive to Pinch campground. This will be approximately a 1-hour car drive.
  5. If there are participants required accommodation on Friday night, camping will be available at the Alpine Centre.
  6.  We will be camping at the Pinch campground on Saturday night.
