The focus of this weekend is youth progressing on their overnight OAS skills,
Scouts/Venturers/Leaders will need to bring all they need for a two day hike, around 10km each day, with camps at remote locations, with no facilities. This means being able to carry everything you need (including food). Water will be available at campsites - but participants should carry 2 liters per day.
It's a training weekend, so the reality will be easier. Friday night will be at a campsite with facilities - and time will be taken to discuss/modify gear choices for the real overnight experience on Saturday. On Saturday, we won't walk a huge distance, something between 5 and 10Km. There WILL be no facilities on Saturday night.
Experienced Scouts/Venturers may use this weekend to complete their Adventurous Journey, but they will still need to do all the required paper work, risk assessment, etc... They won't be part of the training (above), but there will be sufficient Leaders at the event to provide indirect supervision.
