Brief Summary:
Scout Patrols from Parramatta District will be competing in the biennial raft race challenge. This activity is for Scouts and linking Cubs.

Description: 

Patrols turn up, construct a raft and then compete in a number of interesting challenges.

Refer to the attached information sheet on the raft requirements (traditional or 'super class'), events and gear requirements.

Patrol Registration:

To register a Patrol the PL needs to:

  • Click the 'Add Patrol' button on the right, then enter their Patrol name and PL details, then save and close
  • Click on the new 'Manage' button, then enter details of the Scouts in their Patrol (first name, surname and Scout membership number)

Patrol needs to registered no later than 6:00pm on Friday 21 November for early bird points.

Program:

       8:00am          - registration opens and commence raft construction
       8:30am          - opening parade
     10:30am          - morning tea and raft scrutineering/safety checks
     11:00am          - event 1 (sprint race)
     11:30am          - lunch and raft repairs
     12:00midday   - event 2 (tow race)
       1:00pm         - event 3 (first aid)
       1:30pm         - free time and raft pack up
       2:00pm         - closing parade

Location:   

Kissing Point Park is on the Parramatta River. Parking for vehicles with trailers is available near the boat ramp, whilst other vehicles should park in nearby residential streets. The Scouts area will be on the eastern side from the ferry wharf. 

Wear:
  • Scout scarf for opening and closing parade
  • swimmers with rashie/t-shirt
  • hat (wide brimmed recommended)
  • water shoes
  • PFD/life vest for every participant

Bring:   

Small back pack containing :-

  1.  Water bottle
  2.  change of dry clothes and shoes 
  3.  lunch, morning tea and snacks
  4.  towel
  5. sunscreen
