Brief Summary:
SX1 Basic Cross Country Ski Adventure Weekend. This weekend will take you out beyond the resorts into the world that exists beyond the ski resorts. This weekend is aimed at people who have not skied or cross country skied before or are looking to improve their skiing skills. It will provide basic training in cross country skiing and by the end of the weekend our aim is to have you skiing and turning at a basic level of proficiency.
Additional Information

Theory Night:

The Theory night is a PREREQUISITE for all novice cross country skiers.
Commences at 7:00pm sharp and finishes at 9:00pm.<br>
Please ensure you can be picked up no later than 9:05pm.

Out of uniform at the Barra Brui Activities Hall.

Weekend General Info:

We will depart Friday evening from various locations between 4pm and 7pm and travel by car to Jindabyne stopping to pickup ski hire at Cooma. We will arrive in Jindabyne or Dalgety between 11pm and 2am depending on leave time and traffic and will be camping at the caravan park in Jindabyne. Transport arrangements will be finalised just prior to the event.

DO NOT BE LATE  for you driver.

Saturday will see us depart from Jindabyne/Dalgety around 7-00am and we will ski the Perisher nordic trails whilst we practice our ski skills also playing a range of games. Please ensure you have your backpack fully packed and ready with the gear and additional clothes you will need to go ski-ing.

Saturday Night:
After the day's ski-ing, we will return to Jindabyne/dalgety caravan park campsite. Dinner will either be at the Cooma bowling club.

Sunday:
All camping gear will need to be packed up in the morning. Participants will need to be ready to depart by 7-00am. DO NOT BE LATE.
We will all be in the Perisher area and we will generally head out for a bit of a tour. We will depart Perisher Valley around 3:30pm and arrive back in Sydney between 10-30pm and Midnight.

EQUIPMENT AND GEAR LISTS including any clothing and specific food requirements for the weekend will be provided at the Ski-ing Theory Night.

GENERAL:
SNR does not provide tents, cater for (provide food). Transport may be possible in Leader(s) vehicles but this cannot be guaranteed. Costs for Food transport and equipment hire if any are the responsibility of the individual and not the responsibility of Region. Estimated costs for the weekend is $295.00.
