GWS Back Country Overnight Ski Trip

Overnight back country skiing Leaving and returning from Perisher. We will ski to and camp in the Pounds Creek area. Open to Venturers, Rovers & Leaders with suitable skiing and camping experience. OAS Alpine level 4 or equivalent will be required. This is not for participants that do no have cross country skiing experience. This will be a great opportunity for participants of the NSW Alpine School to further develop their alpine skills.

We will depart Sydney Friday afternoon around 4pm and travel to the Scout Alpine Center where we will camp for the night. Saturday morning, we will drive to Perisher and set off to establish a base camp below The Paralyser range. Saturday afternoon we will explore the area. Sunday we will aim to be back at Perisher by 1pm for the return trip to Sydney arriving around 8pm.

You will need to provide your own food and equipment for the weekend. We will stop at Rhythm Snowsports for those that need to hire ski’s and equipment.

Cost covers fuel and park entry fees. Depending on transport options there may be a $23 charge to catch the bus up to Perisher from Jindabyne.
