Brief Summary:
The State Water Activities Centre (SWASH) is running a Try Sailing Afternoon for members to experience Sailing on Sydney Harbour. You will help rig a sail-boat, learn basic sailing techniques as well as build confidence on sailing boats.
Additional Information

The purpose of the Try Sailing Afternoon for members to experience Sailing on Lane Cove River and Sydney Harbour. You will help rig a sailboat, learn basic sailing techniques as well as build confidence on sailing boats. You don’t need any sailing experience to attend. 

 On the day, remembering you will get wet, you will need to bring: 

  • any medication you require 

  • long hair will need to be tied back for sailing

  • sunscreen 

  • hat 

  • water bottle 

  • wear sunsafe clothing (long sleeves recommended) 

  • spray jacket (to keep warm) 

  • wear fully enclosed shoes that will get wet (no crocs, thongs etc) 

  • dry clothes to travel home in 

The Water Activities Centre will provide you with a PFD to wear on the day and a sausage sizzle and drink for lunch. 

You will also receive a certificate at the end of the day outlining what OAS compentencies you have achieved.

Activities are subject to suitable weather conditions. If for any reason the event is cancelled, you will be able to rebook or obtain a refund. If you are unable to attend after registering, you will not be entitled to a refund.
