Additional Information

The purpose of the Joey canoe fun morning is to provide joeys with an opportunity to learn and practice canoeing skills whilst having fun and achieving OAS competencies. On the day, we will be canoeing to Woolwich baths and practicing swimming 10 metres and floating with a PFD on. Each Joey is encouraged to bring a parent or caregiver to sit in the canoe with their Joey. The parent or caregiver will need to be registered as an adult helper or leader. Joeys or their parent/caregiver, don’t need to have paddling experience to attend.

  • Morning tea is provided for Joeys (popper and biscuits)
  • Parents/caregivers to bring their own morning tea

On the day, remembering you will get wet, you will need to bring:

  • any medication you require
  • sunscreen
  • hat
  • water bottle
  • wear sunsafe clothing (long sleeves recommended)
  • spray jacket (to keep warm)
  • wear fully enclosed shoes that will get wet (no crocs, thongs etc)
  • dry clothes to travel home in

The Water Activities Centre will provide you with a PFD to wear on the day.

Activities are subject to suitable weather conditions. If for any reason the event is cancelled, you will be able to rebook or obtain a refund. If you are unable to attend after registering, you will not be entitled to a refund.
