Scout Campfire Experience for Cub Scouts

A scout campfire is an exciting part of scouting, filled with songs, skits, stories, and reflective moments. Here’s what you can expect and what to bring to stay comfortable and prepared.

What to Expect:

  1. Gathering: Everyone meets around a designated campfire area, filled with excitement.
  2. Lighting the Fire: A leader or older scout lights the fire in a special ceremony.
  3. Songs and Cheers: Sing fun, silly, and action songs led by enthusiastic leaders.
  4. Skits and Stories: Enjoy short, funny skits and thrilling stories performed by scouts.
  5. Reflective Moments: A quiet time to reflect on the day’s experiences and lessons.
  6. Smores: End with a final song and then enjoy cooking a snack on the fire maybe a hot drink.

For Smores and Hot Chocolate, please bring along a $2 coin. Note: no gluten-free or lactose-free options. (there is no EFTPOS available)

What to Bring:

  • Warm Clothing:

    • Warm Jacket: Insulated to keep you warm.
    • Layers: Thermal base layer, sweater or fleece, and jacket.
    • Hat and Scarf: To keep your head and neck warm.
    • Gloves: For warm hands.
    • Warm Socks and Sturdy Shoes/Boots: Thick socks and comfortable footwear.
  • Essentials:

    • Water Bottle: Reusable and filled with water.
    • Flashlight or Headlamp: For navigating in the dark.NOT to be used when sitting by the fire
  • Additional Items:

    • Blanket: For extra warmth.
    • Hand Warmers: Disposable warmers for cold nights.
    • Personal Medications: Any medications you need.
    •  $2 coin on the night for Hot chocolate and Smores (Will contain lactose and Gluten)
