Overnight expedition along the beautiful Kangaroo River.
Paddling skills required. Minimum Stage 3 OAS paddling for youth members. NB. All youth member registrations will be assessed/approved by the GWS water activities team prior to accepting registration.
24km return expedition with highs/lows of 24-140 average water temp of 200 , known Eastely winds at 4 knots and and average rainfall of 72mm.
Please ensure clothing is sun safe (for daytime) and provides warmth (overnight)
Provide own equipment is as per light weight hiking:
- pack, tent, bedding, water proof bags, 1st aid kit, sunscreen, medications etc
- stove,cooking gear, cleaning gear, meals (x2 B, x2 L, x1 D) and snacks, water bottle
- clothing, water shoes, toileteries, toilet paper, swimmers (rash vest for upper body), frist aid kit, bike gloves (for paddling)
Toilets at campsite available.
Paddles, PFD, canoes are supplied if required.
Cancellation Triggers: severe weather with flooding, thunderstorms, high winds, heavy rainfall.
