Brief Summary:
Shakedown camp for the Scouts and Venturers Scouts who are attending AJ2025 in the Parramatta District Jamboree Units (FC008 and FC011).

Description:

Jamboree Shakedown Camp is mandatory for all Scouts and Venturers attending AJ2025.
The purpose of the shakedown camp is to form the Jamboree Patrols and assign their PL and APLs, determine tent allocations, check all of the Unit gear (that will then be packed for transport to Qld), practice setting up on a standard Jamboree sized site, and manage meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning.

Scouts will be undertaking a range of activities, including:

 

Cost:

The cost of this camp is included in the Jamboree Unit cost for each youth member, which is to be paid by installments to the Scout Group bank account notified by your Unit Cordinator (Jumbuck or Pommy).
 

Wear:

  • Scout uniform

  • Hat 

 

Bring:

Overnight bag/pack containing:

  • sleeping bag

  • sleeping mat

  • spare clothing (incl. warm clothing)

  • rain coat

  • torch/headlamp

  • mess kit (plate, bowl, cup, knife, fork & spoon) + tea towel

  • personal toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, sunscreen, insect repellent, etc)

  • water bottle 

  • money to buy snacks at 7-Eleven (optional)
