Brief Summary:
This camp is for 1st Kellyville Scouts & Venturers, 2nd Baulkham Hills Scouts, and the AJ2025 Unit 034. ## AJ2025 Unit 034 will get to know each other, prepare for AJ2025. ## Scouts will be participating in a lightweight survival camp designed to show scouts how to camp as if doing an overnight hike and building survival shelters, cooking on an open fire and doing a hike on wheels. ## Venturers will be enjoying a social camp and are welcome to join or run the scouting activities.
Additional Information

1st Kellyvile and AJ Unit C034 are running three events in parallel. Scouts and venturers can register for one of the three camping events on 14-15 September. If you're in unit C034 ands heading to AJ2025 in January, please register for the C034 Who's who in the zoo camp.


Scout Lightweight Survival Camp

The purpose of this camp is to cover some of stage 4 and 5 survival skills and to do Harry's hike on wheels.

  • we will be camping lightweight as if doing an overnight hike
  • on Saturday scouts will build a shelter big enough for 3 people using natural materials
  • scouts can sleep in their shelter or tent
  • on Sunday we will doing a hike on wheels lead by Harry. If you have a scooter bring it along so you can join Harry's hike. Scouts without a scooter will do a bushwalk and navigation activity.
  • scouts will need to be able to cook Saturday dinner on an open fire, without using pots and pans or a billy. We will have foil for scouts to use. No scout will go hungry.
  • scouts are expected to pack for themselves. A weight limit of 8kg for each scouts bag will be applied. Tents excluded.

What to bring

  • 5 items to be in their survival kit, or your whole survival kit if you have one
  • personal first aid kit
  • a hiking tent if you have one. If not 1st Kellyville will provide a tent so please let a leader know you need one.
  • a scooter, helmet, knee/elbow/wrist guards
  • please be prepared for any weather conditions that may present over the weekend.
  • a suggested packing list is attached.​

All food will be provided for Saturday and Sunday. In the weeks leading up to the camp we will discuss options for cooking on an open fire and the scouts choices will be purchased and brought along to the camp by leaders.

AJ2025 C034 Who’s Who in the Zoo Camp

Welcome to our first camp together as the C034 Unit (THE BEST UNIT ATTENDING AJ 2025!) for AJ2025!

On this camp we will be :

  • Getting to know each other through the shared scouting experience of a standing camp.
  • Choosing Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders
  • Sorting ourselves into Patrols
  • Design Patrol Badges based upon our Darug Country theme
  • Sorting Patrol and Unit equipment for AJ and
  • Participating in a huge range of fun team building games!

The Packing list is attached.

All food and tents will be provided for Saturday and Sunday.

Venturer social camp

Venturers are welcome to camp alongside the scouts on Saturday and Sunday. They will need to cater for themselves, organise their own gear, food, and activities for the weekend. Scout leaders will be onsite to supervise. Venturers are also welcome to join in the Scout section activities or volunteer to run an activity to earn a lead or assist towards a milestone.
