Starting from the West Ryde Station, the Scouts will first travel by train to Woy Woy Station. From there, we will walk to the the Brisbane National Park. We will then make our way to the peak of Mount Wonderbyne where awe-inspiring vistas of the entire region will greet us.
We will spend the first night at the Rocky Pools Campsite.
Next morning we will walk along the Midway Ridge Trail with its amazing views overlooking the Hawkesbury River, via Little Patonga Beach all the way to Little Wobby Wharf where we will catch the iconic heritage listed Brooklyn Ferry. This ferry journey to Brooklyn will be one of the many highlights of this Hike.
We will spend the second night at the Brooklyn Dam Campsite.
On the final day, we will go around the Brooklyn Dam and then walk via Jerusalem Bay to Cowan Station. This last segment is part of the famous Great North Walk. Finally, we will catch the train back to West Ryde Station and home sweet home.
The hike will meander through pristine bushland, delightfully secluded beaches, and have many vantage points of the picturesque Hawkesbury River and its islands. Please see the attached Hike Map.
