Brief Summary:

With other Venturers and Scouts, participate in two unusual service activities at Berrima Scout Camp, amounting to about 4 hours of work. These activities would have been run at the cancelled Venturer Environment camp.

Activity Description

1. With the Environment Officer ‑ (Bushcare and Citizen Science) from Wingecarribee Council, build four 'frog saunas' to assist in preventing chytrid fungus, which is killing Australian frogs.

2. With Leaders' guidance, use a variety of power and hand tools to construct a set of steps adjacent to the hall veranda at Berrima.

After the service activity, provided a Leader with suitable qualifications is present, you may like to hire the Berrima canoes by private arrangement or go for a swim in the river.. Please contact camp manager, at David.Uzzell@nsw.scouts.com.au to make arrangements.

Wear older clothes and sturdy shoes. Long pants and long sleeved shirt are advisable . Bring all your own food and drinks, gardening gloves, hat and sunscreen, water bottle.

Transporting adults may enjoy exploring historic Berrima and visiting the township's unique shops while they wait.
