TGW Rover Unit is pleased to present the NSW Rovers' Bushdance at Minnamurra Scout Camp, Dubbo for 9-11 May 2025. Activities will be concentrated on Saturday 10 May with a variety of expeditions for Rovers to explore the wonders and attractions of Dubbo and Central West NSW.
Getting there: Minnamurra Scout Camp is only accessible via Brummagen Rd, left turn off the Mitchell Hwy about 20 minutes west of Dubbo. Do not travel via Minore if your GPS tells you to do so. Look out for the signs for Brummagen Creek and Brummagen Rd when on the Mitchell Hwy to know when to turn. If you end up in Narromine you've gone too far.
Rovers will arrive on Friday night (admin will remain open late), and travel home Sunday morning after breakfast.
Rovers who do not want to drive can choose the Railroad Run expedition where you'll catch the XPT Train from Sydney to Dubbo on the Saturday and back to Sydney on Sunday (transport included to and from Dubbo station).
Catering runs from Saturday lunch to Sunday breakfast. Those on Railroad Run will be provided with lunch for the Sunday return train trip. After Saturday breakfast all participants will head offsite to start their expeditions. Only staff will remain on site.
We know Bushdance is expensive, so we've tried to keep down costs as best we can. Registration is a two stage process. Register and pay your base ticket now and select your top two preferences for expeditions. Once we have confirmed numbers you will be invoiced for your expedition. First in best dressed.
Saturday has a variety of expeditions in cost and content and provided they meet minimum numbers the expedition will run. More details are in the Expedition Info Pack attached. Prices are approximate and may decrease with greater numbers attending. Some expeditions involve using your own car for travel, some have transport included.
Rovers will need to bring appropriate clothing for a Rover event of camping and their expedition, and to bring mess kits. More information will follow.
Bushdance is a BYO alcohol event. All participants and staff are to follow the Scouts NSW Drug and Alcohol Policy.
Any questions please message the TGW Facebook page, or email our Bushdance Coordinator Grace.Lutwyche@nsw.scouts.com.au, Alexander.Quan@nsw.scouts.com.au for Expedition questions or Nicholas.Bassett@nsw.scouts.com.au for general inquiries.
We're super excited to see you out west for Bushdance 2025 - The Wild West.
