The ACTIVITY: At this weekend activity you will learn about the importance of the environment. It will include the identification of native trees and the planting of such trees. It will also include weed removal etc, in accordance with the badge work requirements.
The activity will be held at the Myuna Bay Scout Camp which can be accessed by car through the Origin Energy land near the power station outlet channel.
LOCATION - The activity will be held at the Myuna Bay Scout Camp which can be accessed by car through the Origin Energy land near the power station outlet channel. Rocky Point Rd. (southern side) look for double gates. From approx. 8.30am on Saturday a Leader should be outside the main gate entrance to assist participants on where to go as there are two sets of gates close to each other.
CAMPING - The camp is located on the side of Lake Macquarie and has good camping areas. There is water on site however the nearest toilets are approx. 200 metres from the camping grounds. Fires must only be used in designated areas with the permission of Dallas Lock, subject to the local fire warnings etc. Preferably bring Gas cooker. No Sharing of food. No sharing of tents unless family. Groups should bring Gazebos or the like in case of rain.
CLOTHING / EQUIPMENT - You will need to be suitably attired for this activity with long sleeves and long pants and need gardening gloves, sunscreen, food, water etc. HATS ARE A MUST.
