Join us for a day on and in the water learning all things canoeing skills to help you obtain Trained participant Canoeing.
Day will include theory and practical sessions supported by South Met AA team Guides and indentured Guides @ Oatley Bay scout hall and its water front.
To gain your TP canoe you must have basic water rescue and TP core.
There will be an opportunity for participants who don’t have Basic water rescue to be signed off if they complete the work book prior to the event.
Please note this day will only cover aspects of paddling a craft shining fundamental skills and paddle a canoe in inland flat water.
Pre requisite-
YOUTH: OAS 3 and above in Paddling and Must be able to swim 50m unaided
Leaders: Confident paddler with previous experience and able to swim 50m unaided
To Bring:
Paper and pen or electronic device e.g laptop/ iPad.
Swimmers
Hat
Sunscreen
If you own a PFD- otherwise one will be provided
Change of clothes
Towel
Water shoes
Packed lunch and snack
Water bottle
Log book with at least 2X paddles on flat water ~ within 400m from shore recorded in last 3 years.
