Brief Summary:
Hosted by GWSR, open to all regions. Practice day walk on the Palm Jungle Loop. Day walking times are approx. 9 am to 5:30 pm. Aim to start and finish based on connecting train from Central. If we are delayed we can update parents.
Additional Information

Please note we are reaching out for Registered Adult Helpers, Rovers, Adults Leaders and Fellowship to support on these days. All adults on site must be registered with Scouts NSW. Ideally 2 or more adult members to join with Tristan and a minimum of 5 youth to proceed.

This event is taking place on a Sunday.

Prerequsite OAS bushwalking stages 1 & 2. All you and adults require a current Scouts NSW membership number and financial status. All adults on site must be registered with Scouts NSW.

Child safety is our number one priority at Scouts NSW. Therefore, all Adult Helpers are thoroughly screened, undergo a Police Check, must hold a valid, verified Working With Children Check and undertake two online training modules to ensure the safety of our youth members.

Sunday 11 January

Start Otford Station 9 am

Finish Otford Station 5:30 pm (approximate time only)

12.7 km Otford Station via Otford Lookout, Cliff Track, Garrawarra Farm, The Burgh Track, Coast Track, Burning Palms and Palm Jungle

Carry sufficent drinking water for the day as no guaranteed water sources.

Near Otford, Palm Jungle loop track meanders through coastal rainforest, beaches and cliff tops offering spectacular ocean views.

From Garawarra Farm, the track leads through towering forests of gums and graceful angophoras. Descending the steep Burgh Ridge, stop and absorb the brilliant panoramic views along the dramatic coastline. Joining The Coast track, veer right past historic beach shacks to Burning Palms beach.

The track winds through a jungle of lush palms to Werrong lookout; a rocky outcrop with magnificent views.
