Brief Summary:
2 and 1/2 day practice bushwalk. Hosted by GWSR, open to all regions. Prerequisites: OAS bushwalking and camping 3 + some nights camping + have practiced carrying an overnight pack. This is not suitable as a first overnight camp. Available to older Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Fellowship, Leaders and Registered Adult Helpers. Please note all youth and adults on site require a current Scouts NSW membership number.

This event is taking place on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday during the NSW public school holidays.

Prerequisites: OAS bushwalking and camping 3 + some nights camping (can be standing camps) + have practiced carrying an overnight pack + developing knowledge of bush toileting and hygiene + developing knowledge of water purification.

Please note we are reaching out for Registered Adult Helpers, Rovers, Adults Leaders and Fellowship to support on these days. All adults on site must be registered with Scouts NSW. Ideally 2 or more adult members to join with Tristan and a minimum of 5 youth to proceed.

Yarramalong to Somersby via Archers and Palm Grove 26.7 km Grade 4 (hard grade) Wildwalks, Duration  2 1/2 days

Comfortable Autumn temperatures and reduced wildfire fire risk.

Scenic rural landscapes of the Great North Walk north of Somersby. Undulating terrain, some ascents and descents, small creek crossings, mix of walking track, rural roads and firetrail.

Start point - Wyong Station 8:50 am, (connecting train from Sydney arrives 8:39 am) we may reach out for support for a carpool 19 km on sealed road to Yarramalong. We can also look into a maxi taxi/mini bus transfer if we are short on seats. Once we have transported everyone we plan to depart 9:50 am/10:20 am ish. Delays may occur.

Saturday 4th April Yarramalong Store to Archers campsite 10.89 km
Sunday 5th April Archers campsite to Palm Grove campsite 11.05 km
Monday 6th April Palm Grove campsite to Somersby Public School 4.76 km (finish mid morning)

 Finish point: Gosford Station or Intercity train back to Sydney

 **Please note early start on Monday 5 am rise, 6 am start. Walk into Somersby to catch the 9:03 am 32/24 busways bus from Somersby PS back to Imperial Centre, Erina St  (Gosford) by 10 am. Delays may occur.

Walk to station aim to catch 11:09 am train back to Epping, Strathfield and Central. Arrives Strathfield 12:20 pm. Delays may occur.

Water can be refilled from creeks on the route, either purification tablets or a water filter needed.

Bush toileting does apply to this section.
