Youth Scout Development Course
Develop skills. Make friends. Lead the way.

Ready to level up your Scouting journey? Step into leadership, adventure, and teamwork at the Youth Scout Development Course in Coffs Harbour! This isn’t just a weekend—it’s your launchpad for becoming a confident, capable youth leader.

Whether you want to guide your Unit, sharpen your skills, or make awesome new mates, this course is packed with action, insight, and fun.

Over the weekend, you’ll:

  • Dive into what makes a great youth leader
  • Team up to tackle challenges and grow your problem-solving skills
  • Learn to shape your Unit’s program with the Scout Method
  • Connect with Scouts from across the region

From energising games to meaningful reflection, get ready to learn by doing—and enjoy every minute.

Meals and Gear Up
This is a self-catered course—so on Friday evening, come having already eaten or bring something you can cook on arrival. A basic kitchen will be available, so you can heat up or prepare a meal if needed.
And don’t forget your mess kit: plates, bowl, cup, and cutlery—you’ll need them for every meal. It’s your badge of independence and a must for any Scout leader in the making.

Sun Safety
Scouts NSW is a SunSafe organisation: bring a hat and sunscreen, and use them! Leaders will remind you to reapply during the day.

Youth Safety – Know It. Live It. Log It.
All Scouts are expected to live by the Scout Law and Promise through our youth-safe values. Learn more at the Youth Safe Advocate Hub: https://www.nsw.scouts.com.au/youthsafe
