The Joey Scouts and Pre-Junior Guides will enjoy a day full of fun in their very own dedicated activity zone in the morning, where Rovers, with support from home unit leaders, will lead a range of engaging and age-appropriate activities. As the day unfolds, the action moves to the beach for more hands-on adventures. To top it all off, everyone will gather at the parade ground for the thrilling debut of the Boree Regatta Land Race and a series of exciting group events, where units will go head-to-head in friendly competition!
Arrive at 9.00 am to check in at the registration table with your unit.
Opening parade at 9.30 am
Activities will start at 10.00 am
Closing parade at 3.30 pm
What to wear and bring
- All registered participants should arrive in full Scout/Guide uniform
- Don’t forget to bring a t-shirt, a wide-brim hat, shorts, sunblock, and fully enclosed shoes must be worn at all times.
- Don’t forget to pack a towel, you might get wet during some of the activities.
- Everything should be packed in a small backpack, and please label all items.
In preparation for the event, please note that singlet tops, midriff/crop tops, and short shorts are not acceptable clothing. Clothing must have sleeves and should be sun-safe. Enclosed shoes must be worn at all times. Shirts with collars are recommended. Crocs and thongs are not acceptable footwear for the event.
Eligibility
This event is only open to the South Metropolitan Joey Scouts and Southern Sydney Rivers Region Pre Junior Guides, Parent Helpers, and Leaders.
All Joeys must be registered and valid members of Scouts NSW at the time of application and through until 20th October 2025. All must have consent from their parents/guardians. All Joeys must be supervised by a unit leader or a registered parent helper throughout the event.
All leaders must be registered and valid members of Scouts NSW at the time of application and through until 20th October 2025. Hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWC) and Police Check. Have completed the compulsory Mandatory (Child Safe Scouting and WHS for Scouting), and these modules are valid until the 20th October 2025.
Event Fees & Payments
The event fees cover the contribution to the event, Boree Regatta. Each group should charge its own cost to cover the catering for the Saturday.
• Joeys/Pre Junior Guides - $10.00
• Leaders - $10.00
• Registered Parent Helper - $10.00
The event fee includes the following, but is not limited to:
• 1 day of activities
• Badge
• Site security and logistics (including portable toilets, temporary roads, etc.)
• Event registration fee
All applications, payments, and e-permissions must be received before the closing date. Any application not finalised before the closing date will be cancelled.
General Health
If you are unwell or showing symptoms of a viral disease, we ask that you stay home, self-isolate, and look after yourselves.
Event Cancellation
If the activity cannot proceed due to weather conditions, leaders will be notified via Teams, and unit leaders will then inform the participants.
Feeling Safe at Boree Regatta
Everyone in Scouts, youth and adults alike, has the right to feel safe and be protected from abuse. No one is allowed to threaten you, hurt you, or touch you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or afraid.
A Scout is respectful, and this applies to all interactions between all participants, youth and adults, at Boree Regatta.
You do not have to deal with abuse on your own. If you feel unsafe, threatened, or you see/hear something that causes you concern, please speak to a Leader or Rover on an activity. Your concerns will be taken seriously. The information you provide will be shared with people who can support and protect you.

If, for any reason, you do not feel the concerns of this nature that you raised Boree Regatta have been satisfactorily dealt with, please report your concerns directly to the Child Protection Team at the NSW State Office on 02 9735 9060 or via YouthProtection@nsw.scouts.com.au or to your parents
