Meeting places

1. Train

Wollongong Train Station 07:47am

Thirroul 7:58am

Helensburgh 8:23am

Arrive Waterfall for 9:00am

2. Car Waterfall train station 0900 Saturday morning

Leaders will be required and the more leaders/adults the more we can tailor hikes to suit the Scouts.

Saturday: Hike through the Heathcote or Royal National Park to Heathcote Scout Camp.

Sunday: Return to Waterfall train station via alternate National Park.

Alternates: Complete a day hike near Waterfall and then catch train to Heathcote.

This is a light weight camping overnight hike and you will need to carry your own gear including a tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment, and food for 2 days. If you are coming with a friend you may arrange to share a tent and other equipment.

Alternate: there will be a chance to have your gear transported to the next campsite by car to allow a day hike with appropriate day hike gear only.

The hikes will plan to finish at Waterfall train station at 2pm Sunday.

You will also need to bring Opal card or petrol money, and your own food.

NOTE: You should not be carrying more than 20% of your body weight, excluding water.

Each patrol will be given navigation instructions on Saturday morning and MUST have two leaders/adult supporters with them at all times. Scout uniform is not required. There may be opportunities for swimming so a towel and swimwear is encouraged.
