Brief Summary:
JOTA 2025 for Joeys, Cubs, Pre-Junior & Junior Guides at the Blue Mountains Amateur Radio Club (BMARC) rooms, 4 Moore Street Glenbrook. Two sessions will be held during the day - Session 1: 9am-12pm OR Session 2: 1pm-4pm - spaces are limited for each session. Parents/Carers and Leaders accompanying youth, must also register themselves on EMS.

What is JOTA? For decades, the annual Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) has brought together millions of Scouts and Guides around the world to connect through radio while building friendships, learning new skills, and discovering the international dimensions of Scouting/Guiding.

This GWS REGION JOTA is being organised by Blue Mountains Scout Fellowship specifically for Joeys, Cubs and Pre-Junior/Junior Guides and will be hosted by the Blue Mountains Amateur Radio Club (BMARC), who will provide the equipment and expertise for the youth to experience Amateur Radio. 

DATE: JOTA will be held on Sunday the 19th of October with the choice of participating in one of two sessions.

TIMES:

  • Session 1: 9:00am to 12:00pm
  • Session 2: 1:00pm to 4:00pm

LOCATION: Blue Mountains Amateur Radio Club, 4 Moore Street, Glenbrook.

ACTIVITIES: Besides talking on the radio, activities will include Morse Code, electronic kit assembly, phonetic alphabet, and other fun stuff.

COST: 

  • Youth member (participants) $8.50, (includes badge, activities and electronic kit).
  • Leaders/parents/carers, free (no badge or electronic kit).
  • OPTIONAL separate lunch cost on the day - sausage sandwich and drink $3.50 (cash or EFTPOS) available for everyone from 12pm to 1pm. 

All youth must be accompanied by Leaders (preferably) or their own Parent/Carer. 

All Leaders and parents/carers attending must also complete an EMS registration.

LUNCH: Lunch will be from 12 noon until 1pm. BYO or a sausage sandwich and drink will be available for everyone for $3.50 - pay on the day (cash or EFTPOS). Sorry, we are not able to cater for special diets.

This event is only for members of GWS Region - any applications received from outside GWS Region will be cancelled.
