Additional Information

All Scouts, Leaders and their immediate families are invited to attend a free Emergency Expo at Castle Hill Showground on Sunday, 14th September. Attached is the event flyer but it should be noted that Scouts and Guides have a special early access time of 9am to give them an hour head start on the general admission.

Important: To access Expo between 9am and 10am, ALL youth members and leaders MUST be in full Scout uniform.  Families of uniformed members must be escorted through the entry gate by a uniformed member.  If dad goes back to the car to grab a jacket, he will not get back in without his uniformed youth member with him.  This is required to help ensure child safety and enable scouts to have the maximum opportunity to engage with the emergency services before the general public.

This event will give a rare opportunity to see and touch emergency equipment, vehicles, vessels and aviation assets.  There will be live demonstrations and interactive exhibits.

The aim of Emergency Expo is to educate the community on how to stay safe during emergencies, showcase how residents can support emergency responses, and promote stronger ties between the public and emergency agencies.  We also hope to inspire community members to explore career or volunteer pathways in the emergency services sector.

A wide range of emergency service agencies will be on display, including: NSW Police, Fire and Rescue NSW, State Emergency Service (SES), Rural Fire Service (RFS), Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA), Salvation Army Emergency Services (SAES), NSW Maritime, St John Ambulance, Lifeblood and Surf Life Saving NSW.  Discussions are underway with orhte agencies and these will bee updated on the website as they become available.

Getting There
Free parking is available onsite, but spaces may be limited.  Attendees are encouraged to catch the Metro, with Hills Showground Station just a 2-minute walk from the event.  Metro offers a free park and ride service — check the Metro website for terms and conditions.
All pedestrian entry is via the main arena gate off Doran Drive.
