Basic & Intermediate Paddling
This is a self-catered, two day activity which will Includes some basic theory and practical involving paddling safety as well as the participants being able to build on current skills. Participants will learn correct stokes, correct way to embark and disembark a canoe/kayak, capsize procedures as well as a lot more. OAS stages 1 to 4
It is not a formal course but can be logged for later SP & TP qualifications.
There is overnight camping in the Scout Hall at the location. There are toilets located on foreshore and in hall. Local participant can go home if they choose.
The activity will include Basic Water Rescue for those seeking TP quals. Sunday afternoon.
Participants are required to bring their own (or borrowed) craft, paddle and PFD.
