Personal Development Courses 2 & 3

We’re excited to welcome Cubs, Scouts and Venturers aged 10 - 17 years old to attend the North Coast Personal Development Couse – a weekend designed to grow confidence, build leadership skills, and foster new friendships through fun, engaging, and practical activities.

This is a new initiative from Scouts Australia for all youth members and can be used for the personal development course needed for a peak award.

This is a compact weekend of learning, with the course commencing on Friday night. Please ensure participants arrive ready to jump straight in and make the most of the experience.

Sleeping 
All youth members and leaders will be camping in tents

Catering 

The course includes catering from Saturday breakfast through to Sunday lunch. Please ensure all youth have eaten dinner before arriving on Friday night.

Course 2 (ages 10–13)
Course 2 is designed for older Cub Scouts and younger Scouts who are beginning to take on more responsibility within their Patrols and are ready to develop stronger personal awareness and teamwork skills. The program explores themes of communication, initiative, and supporting peers - building the foundations for effective leadership as youth progress into the Scout and Venturer sections. This course provides a structured but fun environment to strengthen confidence and personal character.

Course 3 (ages 14–17)
Course 3 provides a more advanced personal development experience for older Scouts and Venturer Scouts. Participants explore leadership in greater depth, reflecting on their strengths, their impact on others, and their ability to guide teams through challenges. This course supports youth preparing for more complex leadership roles within their units and encourages reflection, accountability, and resilience. 

A detailed packing list will be sent out after event registrations have closed.

Important Note About Numbers
If applications exceed the expected limit, preference may be given based on age to ensure those aiming for their peak awards within the next 12-18 months are given priority.
