Mountain Bike Upskilling Weekend – Camp Eagle Eye

Fri 15 – Sun 17 May 2026 | Glenreagh, NSW

A dedicated skills‑development weekend for Leaders and Rovers working toward cycling qualifications, and for Scouts and Venturers progressing their OAS Cycling stages.
This course aligns with Scouts Australia Adventurous Activity Standards and provides opportunities for TP Cycling – On & Off‑Road skill sign‑off.

Program Highlights

  • Progressive coaching in balance, braking, cornering, climbing, and descending
  • Guided on‑road and off‑road rides (easy to intermediate) with group‑management focus
  • Bike setup, maintenance, and trail‑safety sessions
  • Navigation, hazard awareness, and risk‑management in mixed terrain
  • Practical scenarios for leading youth cycling activities safely and effectively
  • Logbook sign‑off for qualifications and OAS progression

Leaders & Rovers

  • Current, registered member of Scouts NSW
  • Attending to work toward cycling qualifications
  • Confident riding ability (basic control and balance)

Scouts

  • Must hold OAS Cycling Stage 2

Venturers

  • Must hold OAS Cycling Stage 3

All Participants

  • Approved helmet and enclosed footwear (compulsory)
  • Appropriate PPE for off‑road riding
  • Completed E‑Permission and any required medical/consent forms

 Notes

Delivered by qualified Leaders and Instructors in accordance with Scouts NSW policies, Adventurous Activity Standards, and WHS requirements.
All activities are conducted within each participant’s demonstrated skill level, with appropriate supervision ratios.
Bring your bike (or hire one), helmet, logbook, and a readiness to learn — we’ll provide the trails, the coaching, and the professional development.
