This weekend is for Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders who hold a minimum of OAS 4 abseiling or equivilant.
It is for experined abseilers only. Participants will be abseiling in waterfalls.
It is a two day activity with a theory session on the Saturday which will cover equipment, clothing, food requirements, experience needed and safety. The Theory session will be held at Gosford District Scout Hall Gertrude St Gosford on the Saturday. Time to be confirmed.
Sunday session will meet at car park at Kariong Scout Camp at 8:00am and will follow the creeks and waterways into the Brisbane Water National Park. You will retyurn the the Scout CAmp in the afternoon and depart for home. Participants will experience both Horizontal (Ponds, no abseiling) and Vertical (Abseiling).
You will need to bring your own abseiling gear (Region can supply if needed).
A wetsuit is essential, even if the day is warm it does get cool in the water and in the valley.
Bring your own food and drinking water.
