The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Course will cover all of the necessary skills and knowledge for open water scuba diving, including:
•The aquatic environment: vision, light, sound, heat loss, tides, currents, waves, surge, etc.
•Physics and physiology: buoyancy, pressure, air spaces, breathing compressed air, mixed gases, etc.
•Dive equipment selection, assembly, use and maintenance
•Dive planning
•Basic scuba skills including mask and regulator skills, swimming underwater, buoyancy control, basic rescue techniques, and emergency procedures
This course is targetted for Scouts (min age 12), Venturers and Leaders
There is a pool session on Saturday 18th October and then there will be a theory session to be organised plus 2 sessions for the open water component. Will discuss conveniant date for theory after the pool session
There are some personal items that are not included – these are boots, mask, fins and snorkel. If you do not have these items/cannot borrow, Frog Dive does sell them and charges $50 for boots and $65 for the mask/fins/snorkel. You may be able to get neoprene boots and mask/fins/snorkel from other locations
