Brief Summary:
2 day, 15km overnight bushwalk in the Blue Mountains National Park from Glenbrook to Euroka and return. Participants need to have OAS stage 3 camping and bushwallking experience. It is a great opportunity for Scouts with day hiking experience, but have never done an overnight hike. And a great opportunity for Venturers, Rovers and Leaders who are working on their Trained Participant Core/Bushwalking. This is not suitable as a first time camping experience.
Additional Information

Participants must have some day bushwalking experience and be capable of carrying an overnight pack for 6kms each day. Adjustments will be made for younger/smaller participants whose hiking pack is more than 20% of their body weight, with the option available to drop tents at the campsite.

Sat 6 Dec Glenbrook to Euroka, Nepean River Walk, return to Euroka 7.5km
Sun 7 Dec Euroka to Glenbrook 5km

Cost:
There is a $5 charge to cover the camp site booking at Euroka

Getting There:
The starting point is the corner of Burfitt Pde and Raymond St Glenbrook NSW 2773 at 8:45am.
You can take the Blue Mountains Train from Blacktown to Glenbrook at 8am, to arrive at 8:45am.

Getting Home:
Trains return from Glenbrook to Blacktown on the half hour from 5:30pm Sunday. We will be back at Glenbrook train station in time for participants to take the 5:30pm train, arriving at Blacktown at about 6pm.

Details:

This is a light weight camping trip and you will need to carry your own gear including a tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment, and food for 2 days. If you are coming with a friend you may arrange to share a tent and other equipment. NOTE: You should not be carrying more than 20% of your body weight, excluding water.

Water can be refilled from creeks on the route, either purification tablets or a water filter needed; and we will do a water drop to Euroka campground.

Bush toileting does apply to some sections of the hike with composting toilets at Euroka campground.

We have hiking packs and tents available to borrow at 1st Kellyville, just ask a leader. And we will be supporting participants to plan meals and pack gear in the weeks leading up to the hike.

There may be an opportunity for swimming along the route.
