This event is suitable for scouts venturers, rovers leaders and registered parent helpers
This is a self-catered, two day activity which will Includes some basic theory and practical involving paddling safety as well as the participants being able to build on current skills. Participants will learn correct stokes, correct way to embark and disembark a canoe/kayak, capsize procedures as well as a lot more.
Camping is at Lake St Clair camping ground. Price includes Camping Fees for unpowered site. If you wish to camp in a powered site please make your own arrangements with Lake St Clair campgrounds .
It is not a formal course but can be logged for later qualifications. There are toilets located at camping ground.
The activity will include Basic Water Rescue for those seeking TP quals.
Participants are required to bring their own (or borrowed) craft, paddle and PFD.
Those that are camping will need to bring their own camping gear.
All youth members (Scouts and Venturers ) are required to have a home unit leader with them for the weekend. Activity staff are not responsible for the youth members once the days activites have concluded.
Participants can camp on friday night if they wish
