Basic Scout Leadership Course

Description:
This course is designed for 12 and 13 year old Scouts with at least 12 months Scout section experience. This course meets the requirments for your ASA peak ward personal development course.

Meals are included in the course fee. (Please advise of any allergies and dietary requirements when completing E-Permission). Scouts will be cooking their meals in Patrols. Dinner will not be povided on Friday night. Please ensure you have eaten before you attend the course.

A local bushwalk and swimmng will be part of the weekend. 

Eligibility:

• You must have aproval from your Unit Council and Leader that you are at a suitable stage of your Scouting journey to attend. This means you have the maturity and attitude to fully engage in the course
• You must have achieved Ooutdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) stage 3 in Camping & Bushwalking
• Due to high demand preference will be given to GWS Scouts only

If you are interested in this course please ask your Unit Leader to coordinate your registration with your District Scout Leader.

Bring:

You will be camping and need to bring:

• Tent (can be shared in line with Scout policy)
• Sleeping bag, mat and pillow
• Toiletries
• Mess kit
• Torch
• Basic 1st Aid Kit
• Clothes
• Swimmers & towel
• Hat
• Wet weather jacket
• Notebook/Pen
• Day pack
• Anything else you think you may require
