"Out of season paddle". One (1) day paddle on the Hacking River. The activity is open to current scout members whom have participated in a Hume Region Canoe skills weekend or similar, OR have recognized Canoe / Kayak qualifications, OR whom have a current canoe/kayak log. Total paddling distance is approximately 14km. Meeting @ 8.30am. Starting at Swallow Rock Reserve (Grays Point) with the tide running OUT, we will paddle down river with the Royal National Park on our starboard side. As we pass Lightening Point, the Hacking River becomes much wider and more open. Paddlers may experience, windy conditions, some swell and wash cause by large motorized vessels. Approximately 3km further down river we will pass Grahams Point, before paddling into South West Arm Creek. We will paddle approximately 1.5km into South West Arm before finding our landing spot for lunch. Low Tide 0.55m @12.39pm. After lunch we will retrace our route on the Hacking River to Swallow Rock Reserve (Grays Point) with the tide running IN. We plan to return to our starting location at 3.30pm giving us 1/2hr to reload all the paddle gear, debrief etc. Finish @ 4.00pm
