Brief Summary:

The plan for the Venturer bike ride is to follow the Light Rail cycle path to Parramatta, where we’ll stop for ice cream at a shop just past the Church Street Light Rail stop. We’ll ride along the full Parramatta Light Rail route before heading back. We will start at the Scout Hall with a safety briefing and an ABCDE bike check. From there, we’ll cycle along the light rail track to Parramatta and then return to our starting point. The ride will take approximately 2–2.5 hours including breaks, covering a total distance of around 15 km.

Comfortable, lightweight clothing suitable for cycling
Closed-toe shoes
Warm jacket (just in case it gets chilly)

What to Bring

Bike and helmet
Head torch
Opal Card (Just in case we have take Light Rail back)
Optional: cycling gloves

For Stage 3 Cycling Badge:

Bring a bike repair kit (you’ll need to assemble it and have it checked off by Leaders)

Small backpack with:

First aid kit
Water bottle
Snacks
Lightweight waterproof/rain jacket
Extra jumper or jacket
Insect repellent
Sunscreen
Money for ice cream
