Brief Summary:
Registration open to Scouts & Leaders. Venturers are invited to register as Junior Service Leaders. Scouts are invited to form patrols and attend the 2026 Region Scout Rally to be held Camp Cowley / Wallaroo State Forest. This years "bush" rally will see patrols navigate between 6 superhero themed activity bases located throughout the Wallaroo State Forest. Region Rally will also assist Scouts to develop Bushwalking Stage 2, 3 and 4 skills, including selecting equipment to pack for a weekend hike, planning a menu, navigation, and walking as a patrol.
Additional Information

Welcome to Superhero Region Scout Rally.

Scouts are invited to form patrols, consisting of between 4 and 8 Scouts, to take part in the Region Rally.  Patrols will navigate the Wallaroo State Forest whilst completing 6 challenging activity bases over the weekend 16/17 May 2026.

If you don’t have sufficient Scouts from your home unit to form a patrol, you can still attend the Region Rally as part of mixed unit patrol (we will form these patrols and let you know the details).

Each patrol is to be self-sufficient, and your hike pack needs to contain everything you need for the weekend (a full gear list is attached in ScoutEvent).  Remember to pack a raincoat, warm clothes, water bottle, sunscreen, hat and first aid kit. Your patrol, as a team will be required to navigate to the activity bases, setup hike tents, supply all your own food for Saturday / Sunday and cook your Saturday night dinner on hike stoves (no open cooking fires will be permitted, please bring at least one hike stove per patrol).

Hike packs should generally weigh no more than 20% of your body weight (excluding water). This may be difficult to achieve for smaller Scouts, so patrols are encouraged to share the load and assist these members.  As a patrol the challenge is to make sure your combined packs do not weigh more than 20% of your total patrol weight. We will be weighing the packs on Saturday morning– bonus points will be issued if your patrol is under 20%.

Our overnight campsite will be located adjacent to Scotts Road. Scouts will have access to wet weather shelters at the overnight campsite, and nighttime entertainment will include a movie, wide game and campfire.

Whilst Scouts will be directly supervised at the activity bases and the overnight campsite, throughout the day, they will be independently hiking as patrols through Wallaroo State Forest (note we will only be using a small (1km by 1km square) of the overall forest).  Scouts need to remember that they are representing Scouts Australia and ensure they always follow the Scout Law / Promise.  Behaviour that is not aligned with Scout values will not be tolerated and will result in your early exit from the Rally.

Scouts as a patrol are tasked with designing their own superhero themed costumes for Region Rally - the more unique the better. Bonus points will be issued for costumes. There is no need to bring your Scout uniform or scarf (unless it forms part of your costume).

Leaders and Venturers are also encouraged to dress superhero themed.

Patrol registrations can be completed online.  Once the individual members of your patrol have registered, as the Patrol Leader, you will need to log back into your event registration and click the "Add Patrol" button.  Search for your patrol members by their name or membership numbers.

Scout Check-in:  Scotts Road, Limeburners Creek.  Please follow the directions of the marshals. Drop off will be a kiss and go arrangement.  Check-in will be between 7:30 and 8:15am.  It is recommended that patrol members liaise prior to the event and consider carpooling to ensure they arrive at the same time.  Once all patrol members are present, patrol leaders will be able to register and receive the details for their first activity base, which will commence at 9:00am.

Venturer Camping / Check-in:  Camp Cowley. From the Pacific Highway, turn onto The Buckets Way and travel for 4.9kms. You will pass the Camp HQ turnoff (Scotts Road) and then take the next left - it will be sign posted. Venturers will be able to check in from 7:30am on Saturday 16 May 2026. Venturers will need to bring their own camping equipment and food for the weekend. Venturers will have access to a BBQ, stove, hot water and washup facilities for dinner and breakfast.  Please bring your own pots, plates and utensils. Once checked in, Venturers can make their way to their chosen activity base.

Leader Camping / Check-in: Leaders are required to check-in at HQ. Leader camping will be accessed via Scotts Road.  There will be one camping area for all Leaders.  This change is a result of several activity base sites not being large enough for camping and vehicle access difficulty / safety issues in wet conditions. Leaders will be able to access the site to assist with Rally setup (assistance with setting up wet weather shelters for the youth would be appreciated) and setup their tents from 1pm on Friday 15 May 2026. Leaders need to have arrived and setup their activity base before activities commence at 9:00am on Saturday 16 May 2026.  Please talk to your District Scout Leader about your activity location.

Closing Ceremony / Pickup: Rally HQ. Scotts Road, Limeburners Creek.  Your parents are invited to attend the closing ceremony and watch your patrol be crowned Region Rally champions. The Ceremony will commence shortly after 1pm and Scouts can be collected upon its conclusion.

SUPER HERO CLOSING DATE for an EARLY BIRD Discount: 11:59pm Sunday 19 April 2026

EVENT CLOSE (all registrations, payments and patrol registrations): 11:59pm Friday 8 May 2026

Leader / Venturer Information

Region Rally is a youth event (Scouts and Venturers) and therefore no alcohol is permitted to be consumed on site by any leaders or participants (regardless of age) from Friday 15 May 2026 through to Sunday 17 May 2026.

Leaders / Venturers will need to supply their own food for the weekend.  Please remember that lunch will need to be consumed on your activity base.

Venturers will have access to a BBQ, stove, hot water and washup facilities for dinner and breakfast.  Please bring your own pots, plates and utensils.

Leaders need to bring their own cooking equipment.

All leaders will be required to assist with supervision at the Scout overnight campsite between 4pm and 10pm on Saturday night.  A roster will be included with your activity base pack.

Vehicle movements across the site will be limited due to youth walking on the tracks.  This will also assist with maintaining track quality should we experience wet weather.  Each activity base will be able to utilise one vehicle to transport equipment. A vehicle pass will be provided in your activity base pack. Please remember to bring a day pack to walk to your activity.

Scouts will vote on the best activity base (based on their experience on Saturday).  An announcement will be made at the closing ceremony on Sunday.
