Dobroyd Head, located in Balgowlah Heights within Sydney Harbour National Park, is a site of deep indigenous significance featuring Aboriginal middens and rock engravings. Named in the 19th century by Simeon Lord, the area transitioned from a 1871 defence reserve to a preserved public recreation area by 1960 and part of the national park in 1975, famously hosting historical fisherman huts at Crater Cove.
