Route Overview
Point Clare Station to Hieroglyphs (~4.5 km): Start by climbing up from Point Clare via the Point Clare to Kariong trail. This section is the most strenuous, featuring steep inclines and some rock scrambling.
Hieroglyphs to Woy Woy Road (~2 km): From the sandstone cleft, follow the track out to the Bambara Road fire trail. Continue until you reach the locked gate at Woy Woy Road.
Woy Woy Road Crossing: Carefully cross the main road to reach the Bulgandry Aboriginal Art Site entrance, which is well-signposted on the western side of the road.
Bulgandry to Kariong Shops (~4 km): After viewing the engravings, follow the Kariong to Bulgandry trail. This is a mostly flat, easy walk that leads directly into the southern edge of the Kariong suburb near the Rural Fire Service station. From there, it is a short walk through local streets to the Kariong shopping village.
