This event is suitable for rovers and leaders that wish to progress to whitewater kayaking weekends in the future.
This is a self-catered, two day activity which will Includes some basic theory and practical involving paddling safety as well as the participants being able to build on current skills. Participants will learn correct stokes, correct way to embark and disembark a kayak, capsize procedures as well as a lot more.
Camping is at Lake St Clair camping ground. Price includes Camping Fees for unpowered site. If you wish to camp in a powered site please make your own arrangements with Lake St Clair campgrounds . There are no refunds if you chose to get your own powered site as our camping fees are based on a group booking
It is not a formal course but can be logged for later qualifications. There are toilets and showers located at camping ground.
Participants are required to bring their own (or hired) Kayak, paddle and PFD. Hire fee of $20 to be paid directly to the course organisor. Sit on tops and fibreglass kayaks are not suitable for this weekend if you want to progress to white water.
Please unsure you have clothing that will keep you warm once wet as we will be getting wet over the weekend
Generators can only be used btween 8.00 am and 8.00 pm.
Fires must be in a fire pit
