Additional Information

All cubs are encouraged to attend our Cub Survival Camp, meeting at the hall at 6pm on the 22nd of May for our 2-night camp that will finish up at 1pm on Sunday the 24th.

On arrival, the Cubs will work in patrols to pitch the patrol tents before enjoying a sausage sizzle for dinner.

In the morning, the Cubs will be issued with a 24-hour ration pack that will keep them sustained throughout the day’s activities with opportunities for them to barter with their peers if they wish to do so. Throughout the day, the Cubs will engage in a range of activities to develop their survival skills. They will build survival kits that they will bring home with them at the end of the camp. They will develop water filtration and firelighting skills. They will do some campfire cooking and build survival shelters. Then, when dinner time appraoches they will be given all the tools they need to cook their own dinner (with a little guidance from the Leaders and a  Scout volunteer who will be coming along to help out our Cubs).

On Sunday, the cubs will make their breakfast before engaging in some activities to develop their emergency first aid skills before, packing down ready to go home at the end of the camp.
