Brief Summary:
Join us at Camp Eagle Eye for the North Coast Region Annual Report Presentation, followed by a Celebration of Life for Louise “Mang” Shakespeare. The afternoon will include the presentation of the Region’s Annual Report, a memorial tree planting, shared stories around the fire, and an opportunity for our Scouting community to come together in remembrance and fellowship.
Additional Information

The North Coast Region invites members, supporters, family and friends to attend the 2026 Annual Report Presentation and Celebration of Life for Louise “Mang” Shakespeare at Camp Eagle Eye.

The Annual Report Presentation is expected to run for no longer than 45 minutes and will provide a brief overview of the Region’s achievements, milestones and operations over the past year. A small luncheon will be provided following the presentation.

Following the ARP, attendees are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life for Louise “Mang” Shakespeare, to be held in the garden near the cottage at Camp Eagle Eye. During the gathering, a memorial tree will be planted in honour of Lou. A fire will also be lit, and attendees will be invited to share stories, memories and reflections on the impact Lou had on their Scouting journey and the wider community. A sausage sizzle will be provided following the memorial gathering.

General attendance at both functions is free of charge.

Accommodation is available at cost price for those wishing to stay onsite:

  • Camping: $10 per person
  • Bunk accommodation: $25 per person

Please note that youth members will be utilising a separate part of the site during the weekend. Attendees are asked to remain respectful of this at all times.

Given the nature of the function, the consumption of alcoholic beverages in moderation has been pre-approved by the Region Commissioner. To remain compliant with Scouts NSW Policy, alcohol may only be consumed after 3:00pm and only within the immediate vicinity of the Doug Doak Training Centre. For the remainder of the evening, youth members will be prohibited from this area. This approval does not apply to any Leader who will later return to supervise or care for youth members following the function.

For those unable to attend in person, the Celebration of Life will also be live streamed via Microsoft Teams:
