2026-06-18 - Scouts Northmead Dam Night Hike

This Thursday night we will be enjoying a night hike from Cook St to Maccas via Northmead Dam

No cost to go on the walk, but Scouts will need to bring money for anything they want to buy at McDonalds.

Meet at the entry to Steveson Creek Walk on Cook St at 7:00, and prepare to leave promptly at 7:05. 

Pickup at McDonalds Northmead at 9:00pm.

Please bring a backpack with essential listed under 'requirements' below - including a rain jacket.  There is rain forecast over the coming day, so hiking boots (or shoes you don't mind getting muddy) are recommended.

Transport:

Make your own way to Cook St (near Carrabai Place). 

Pickup from McDonalds Northmead.

Wet Weather:

Barring severe weather, this event will run in the rain. Bring a rain jacket!

The event will be cancelled in the event of severe weather and alternate activities will be conducted in the Scout hall.

Requirements:

Participants will need to wear uniform to and from the venue and bring the following:

• Rain jacket (no umbrellas please)
• Water Bottle
• First Aid Kit
• Headlamp / torch
• Warm jumper (current maximum tomorrow is 21!)
• Appropriate shoes (enclosed shoes for walking)
• Spending money
