Activity Overview.
The camp runs from Friday evening 28th May, with check-in from 17:30 and will conclude after closing Parade 15:00 Sunday 30th May.
Region Rally is a light-weight style camp and Scouts should be aiming to carry no more than 20% of their body weight. There will be a weigh-in at check-in with points allocated.
Patrols self-cater and will be expected to hand in a Menu at check-in with points allocated.
Scouts will be in Patrols and will work their way through a series of scored Activity Bases to test their skills, knowledge and Teamwork. The Patrols that win are the ones that work together as per the Patrol System.
Region Rally is a Sun Safe event and all participants are expected to wear a broad brim hat (not a cap) and collared shirt.
Any member who doesn’t follow rules and obey the Scout Law will miss out on Activities and could possibly be sent home.
Who can come.
The event is open to all Scout Aged participants (11 to 15) who are financially current and registered with a Scout Troop at the time of the event. Venturers, Rovers, Leaders & Adult Helpers are welcome to attend and asked to put together some amazing activities for the weekend.
As Region Rally is a camp where the Scouts have to be self-sufficient we strongly encourage that a Scout will have some camping experience before attending.
*Please consult your Scout Leader in considering this camp.
Camping.
All participants will be camping in self-sufficient unit campsites set-out in the bottom paddock. Allocation and set-up will be supervised by Adult leaders.
Catering for this event is organised within the Unit and will be subject to additional fees as determined by each unit. Your unit leaders will be able to provide more information on this.
Camping and Catering will be subject to stringent COVID restrictions at all times (See COVID-19 Considerations below).
Membership Requirements
All members must remain financial and registered within Scout Link from the time applications close until the end of the event.
All service and line leaders over the age of 18 must be cleared by Scouts Australia NSW to work with children and young people prior to the start of the camp. This includes any adult helpers who must have submitted an A2 form and been accepted by the group prior to the event closing date.
Activity Bases.
Each group/unit who will be running an activity base should download the attached Activity Plan and Risk Assessment forms from the documents section above. These documents must be filled out and e-mailed back to Anthony.Boland@nsw.scouts.com.au by the closing date. Make sure that your Risk Assessment includes items that cover how your base will run under COVID-19 restrictions (Think about things like physical distancing, wiping down equipment and surfaces between users, avoiding eating challenges etc). Remember if you get stuck, that is OK, just reach out and ask!
COVID-19 Considerations
We are excited to be running Region Rally again and hope that you will join us for this weekend. However as with all activities currently being planned for 2021 and into the future, we need to take into account the evolving situation with the COVID-19 Pandemic. This means that there will be changes to how we run Region Rally this year, up to and including having to cancel this event at short notice. Please regularly check back to this page where we will provide any updates on how COVID will affect our ability to run Region Rally.
