The Great SCOUTdoors

'The Great SCOUTdoors' is a Scouts NSW State-wide online Patrol based event full of challenges for Scouts of all ages including Leaders and Supporters.
Activity Overview:
‘The Great SCOUTdoors’ is a HUGE NSW State-wide online event open to Scouts of all ages, from Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts, as well as being open to all adults in Scouting including Leaders, Fellowship members and supporters, held throughout the weekend of Friday 29 October to Sunday 31 October 2021,
Event Patrols:
Participants are encouraged to form an Event Patrol of between 4 – 8 members.
Patrols can fit into any of the following eight (8) categories:
For those that have been unable to form or join a Patrol, we are now accepting Individual applications and have included challenges that can be completed as an individual.
Adults (Leaders, Fellowship members and Supporters) can also join the fun with their own Patrols. Mixed Patrols are also encouraged in Youth sections and for Rover Scouts and Adults. Patrols can be made up of members from different Scout Groups. Patrols from Interstate and Overseas are also welcome to join in the event.
Please note: Where there are both Youth and Adults taking part in activities, two adults must be present at all times.
Cost:
The cost to participate in ‘The Great SCOUTdoors’ event is $10 per person.
Every participant will receive an event badge.
Prizes will be awarded to winning Patrols from each Region, as well as the winning Youth Patrol and winning Adult Patrol.
Event Registration:
Once you have agreed on your Patrol members, Patrol name and Patrol category, the Patrol is to be registered.
Only the Patrol Leader is required to register the Patrol. Full registration instructions can be downloaded from the Event Documents section found at the top of this page.
To register, the Patrol Leader will need to gather the name (first & last), membership number and email address* for each Patrol member for the permissions email to be sent to. Once the Patrol is registered with these details, the event registration system will send an email to each Patrol member to complete and sign** the online E1 permissions and to request individual payments from each Patrol member.
* Please use a parent/guardian email address for members under 18 years of age.
** Only a parent/guardian and members over 18 can sign the permission form.
Event Activities:
Patrols will be able to choose activities to complete throughout the weekend. There will be a HUGE number of varying activities available for Patrols to choose from.
The aim is for each Patrol to complete as many activities as they can throughout the weekend and to provide evidence of completion. Points will be awarded to Patrols for each activity that they complete and submit evidence for.
Further details including where and how to get activity information and where and how to submit activity completion evidence will be provided and made available to registered participants in the week leading up to the event.
COVID-19 Considerations:
Now that COVID-19 restrictions have eased, activities may be completed face-2-face, remotely/online, or a combination of both .
