This will be a 2 day whitewater workshop on the Nymboida river. Participants will be able to progress on their Scout and SIS-10 whitewater qualifications (or just enjoy a weekend on whitewater!)
Weather permitting it will be a two day journey on the Nymboida river, with a camp at a remote location. Participants need to supply their own food and camping gear. Pack for a lightweight camp as personal camping gear will be driven to the remote campsite in a small trailer.
We will be paddling grade I and II rivers. It's your choice whether to paddle in a kayak or canoe. The cost covers camping and transport costs for the required car shuttles.
It does NOT cover equipment hire, which much be booked by contacting phil.shepherd@nsw.scouts.com.au prior to the event.
You can use your own gear, but it needs to be approved by whitewater guides prior to paddling. You will need suitable clothing for use on the water - shoes, long sleeved shirt, board shorts - expect to get wet.
It's a long drive to the nearest shops, so make sure you bring everything you're likely to need.
