Brief Summary:
NSW public school holidays. Practice overnight hike. Medium grade with some hard grade. Rough and steep track with many stairs. High level of fitness required.

Driving

Meet at Narrow Neck Lookout, Cliff Drive 9:30 am or Golden Stairs Carpark via Glenraphael Drive unsealed road 10:30 am.

Public transport

Train from Sydney arrives Katoomba 8:30 am, bus to Katoomba Golf Club departs the Carrington hotel at 8:55 am, bus from Katoomba arrives at the Golf Club 9:03 am. Katoomba Golf Club is located at 1 Acacia St, Katoomba. Walk 1.6 km to Narrow Neck Lookout (20 minutes) Narrow Neck Lookout 9:30 am

Return to Narrow Neck Lookout on Sunday Approx. 5:00 pm. 

Approx 14.2 km return 

Remnants of indigenous, local mining and farming history. Steep descent/ascent into and out of the Jamison Valley and on the loop walk to the Ruined Castle.

Route: Acacia St, Cliff Drive, Glenrapheal Drive, Narrowneck Plateau, Golden Siairs, Federal Pass, Ruined Castle base. Return on Sunday via outward route. We may continue a short distance to the saddle at Cedar Gap if the campground does not have space. Drop pit toilet available. We will complete the loop walk to the Ruined Castle on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning.

Rainwater tank at the campground, do not rely on this. Please carry sufficient water. Under 13 years 2.6 L and over 13 years 3.0 L.

Tristan will aim to check the rainwater tank before the camp and advise.
