Brief Summary:
Rat Skin is a competition camp planned, organised and run by Venturers for Adults involved in Scouting.
Additional Information

Rat Skin is a competition camp for Leaders, Rovers and Adults involved in Scouting. It is organised and run by the Venturer Scout Section and is structured the same as Dragon Skin or State Rally. The youth members think up different initiative style bases and the Leader teams (made up of between 4 and 6 adults) travel between the bases and complete the different scenarios. Like Dragon Skin and State Rally, teams will be marked on how well they deal with each situation. Teamwork and initiative will be important, as is having fun and creativity! Once the activities have been completed, the Team with the most points will win the coveted RAT SKIN.

Rat Skin is a themed event and we would love all participants (Leaders and Youth) to join in the fun, let your mind go wild and dress accordingly. The different activities will be based around this theme too. This year’s theme is

Shocking Moments and Scandals!

All full Team applications received prior to the Early Bird date will receive 50 bonus points! Any leader teams that bring their Venturer Unit along, will receive 20 bonus points! All teams that dress according to the theme will receive 10 bonus points!

Team Leaders - one team application to be sent through from the Leader team to the committee. 2 base applications to be sent through from each Venturer team.

Some notes to remember

Once everyone arrives at camp - everyone is to report to the Administration Tent immediately upon arrival BEFORE setting up camp.

There is no alcohol on site – it is a dry camp.

Participants should come fully self-sufficient for the weekend – tents, food, cooking gear and water.

Participants need only carry a daypack each day, with camping gear to be kept at base camp. Leaders and Venturers camp in different areas, so please organise accordingly.

There will be two designated fire areas (one Leaders and one Venturers), provided though that there isn’t a fire ban (there shouldn’t be).

Please be wary of friendly nocturnal wildlife, and lock all food up at night.

Venturers are to bring everything they need for their bases unless previously co-ordinated with the Rat Skin Committee prior the camp.

All vehicles are to be parked after setting up camp and NOT driven around the site at all. Venturer vehicles are to be parked away from camping areas.
