Brief Summary:
A week long camp in the Snowy Mountains A mix of camping out on your major activity and day activities from the Alpine Centre in Jindabyne For all youth members who are Fourteen and above. Leaders accepted but youth will be given priority
Additional Information

Prerequisites

  1. You must be over 14 years of age
  2. You must be a financial member of Scouts.
  3. During registeration you must upload a current log book of your outdoors experience. There is a downloadable template for your use on this registration. If your having trouble with the log book or need advice Please contact us. We're here to help.

The Activities the Summer Alpine camp will be offering 

Three Major activities to choose from (Choose One)

  1. White Water Kayaking / Canoe Journey
  2. Mountain Biking Journey
  3. A three day Alpine bushwalk Journey over the main range in the Snowy Mountains

 

Other Minor activites to choose from

  1. Canoeing Sailing
  2. Fishing (Trout)
  3. Abseiling

 

Optional activites to choose from that are not covered in the camp fee

These Optional activities need to be paid for in addition to the camp fee

  1. Gravity Mountain biking at Thredbo $200
  2. Horse riding $200  (for a two hour session)

Accomodation at the NSW Scouts Alpine Centre

Chill out and relax inbetween your activities at the Alpine Centre. Play some games or take the challenge of the Alpine camps Ninja warrior course. Try your hand at Slack Lining. All food catered for in our spacious dining hall.

  • Leaders, Its a great chance to get some qualifications and skills.
  • Note: a Cert II from TAFE is valued at $3k

  • As we asked for above, Your Log Book. No Log Book, No registeration......

  • E Learning relevant to your activity

  1. Complete the Cert II - Outdoor Recreation - Core
  2. Abseiling Level 1 
  3. Bushwalking Level 1
  4. Canoeing / Kayaking Level 1

For your parents and carers

  • Activities will be challenging and fun including some of the below conditions
  1. Cold water river crossings
  2. Overnight camps in a wilderness setting.
  3. Bushwalking and navigation
  4. Swimming 
  5. Rockcraft and Abseiling

What is included

  1. Mini Bus Transport to Jindabyne from a number of population hubs (TBA)
  2. Mini Bus transport from the Alpine centre to activities.
  3. All food, including rations for your 3 day journey
  4. All activity equipment. Bikes, Canoes etc (excluding basic hiking and camping kit)
  5. Access to activity Guides.
  6. Over 100 Dad jokes! (really bad ones)
