Brief Summary:
This event is co-run by Narwee Venturers and the SMR Activities Team. Overnight Canoe / Kayak trip down the Kangaroo River
Additional Information

This is an overnight Paddling trip along Lake Yarrunga. Lake Yarrunga is a beautiful lake in the Kangaroo Valley. Rich in wildlife it is a very popular paddling destination. We will put in at Bendeela Pondage and finish at Tallowa Dam.

The cost includes Canoe and trailer hire and providing food for the Saturday night. Region Canoes and PFDs will be supplied.

Participants will have to supply their own camping equipment including tent, sleeping mat/bag, cooking equipment (as required).

Paddling or water shoes

Self-catered: need to provide own breakfasts, lunches and snacks (only Saturday dinner provided).

Everything will need to be packed to be carried in the canoe or kayak they will be paddling.

Attendance of an information night is required. 23/3/2022 at 3rd Mortdale scout hall.

A minimum requirement is that all participants be at stage 3 OAS paddling and be capable of paddling their own craft for a 10 km day.

This is extremely important as we cannot have power boats on the lake to tow tired paddlers.

All applications will be subject to scrutiny from the activity organisers. Applicants deemed to be unsuitable for this trip will be declined and refunded any monies.

If you are unsure about applying, please contact the activity organisers.

This trip should be suitable to very fit older scouts and Venturers
